Golf Fitness & Physical Conditioning
There is more to golf than just swinging the club. To really improve your game, you must practice all aspects: course management, short game, shot-making skills, mental and emotional thoughts, club fitting, and physical conditioning. Physical conditioning is the ability to train your body and muscles to perform a certain athletic motion. If your body can not make a specific motion due to weakness (inhibition) or lack of flexibility in a muscle group, the chances of swinging the golf club correctly are remote or virtually impossible.

Certified Golf Fitness Instruction
The ability to make a good golf swing is directly related to your body’s ability to stabilize, move, balance, and posture certain muscle groups. Being a TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) certified golf fitness instructor, enables Walt to test and identify certain strengths and weaknesses that can help the student to improve their overall golf fitness. The Titleist Performance Institute has identified, through extensive testing of Tour players and low handicap amateurs, the certain physical attributes that a golfer must possess to perform at a high level. This is important to all levels of golfers in that identifying and improving a certain weakness will have a dramatic effect on their golf swing.
Professional Screenings
Professional physical screenings are now available by Walt at Fairways and Greens Golf Center. Screenings consist of a series of physical tests that identify the strengths and weaknesses that a golfer possesses. (click here to view the screening sheet in pdf format)
Once a screening is complete (based on the results), a four page evaluation (findings) will be produced. (click here to view an example of the findings sheet)
With this information a complete individualized workout program can be developed. (click here to view an example of a workout session)
